Good news! You don't have to be a Farmer to participate in the conversation, and it's happening now!

Join us, November 7th at 6:30pm, behind the Cafe at Kahumana Organic Farm & Cafe, for our 3rd consecutive Wai'anae Chapter locavore potluck & meeting!

What to expect:

• 6:30 - Welcome & announcements from our Vice President, Saleh Azizi 
• 6:35 - Blessing of food - Locavore Potluck 
• 6:40 - Review & announcements of HFUU annual Convention, held at OK Farms in Hilo (10/14/16-10/16/16)
• 6:45 - Membership discussion for HFUU - how to become a member & what the benefits of being a member are 
• 7:00 - Guest Speaker - Cedric Gates - Lifetime Wai'anae resident, chairman of Wai'anae Neighborhood Board, (D) Candidate - Hawai'i House of Representatives - District 44 (Wai'anae Coast) 
• 7:25 - Guest Speaker - Dr. Christina Mello - Assistant Professor of Applied Cultural Anthropology at University of West Oahu. Her research addresses food and social justice issues and she is passionate about working closely with community constituents to create bottom-up change that empowers community
• 7:50 - Open Mic
• Seed & Plant Exchange / Produce Swap 
• 8:00 - Pau 

*BYOU - Please bring your own forks/spoons/knives/plates & cups if this is avialable to you! It definitely lightens our load, & keeps the amount of waste to a minimum! 

*PLEASE - bring a dish to pass if you plan on partaking in any food provided. (portion for 10 or more people)
